A to Z Challenge Because Why Not

So I decided today to do a little challenge with this here post I am calling it the A to Z Challenge. It's pretty simple, the basic premise is every sentence starts with a letter from A to Z, the trick is it has to be in order and make some sense. So who is ready to see what kind of silliness I can create using the alphabet as a tool?

Here We Go!

Another day in the books another entry in the annals of the internet. But what makes this one different than all of the others? Crazy as it sounds I am actually in a good mood as I write. Depending on how you look at my writing it is up an down, thankfully today it is up in direction. Everyone will have their own thoughts regarding my writing and that's fine. Frankly I write to express some level of creativity my regular life lacks in a sense. Grounded and concise most of my writing isn't but it is creative. How many people do you know, that can out of nowhere write the kind of madness I do from time to time? I can't be the only one who can rock creative episodes out of nowhere. Just because I can imagine a little person riding a dinosaur, chasing after a cow driving an ice cream truck? Keeping all the crazy stuff inside my noggin is a task unto itself. Let's remember I am not crazy just creative, a thin line perhaps but I am not fully there yet. My mind just tends to go places at the drop of a hat, usually with hilarious results. Now if I can make someone chuckle with some of the ramblings I produce, than I am pretty happy. Obviously sometimes it doesn't come across as adorable and funny as I would have hoped. Probably a product of trial and error, some things are stupidly hilarious (mole people from Mole-opolis yeah I am talking about you). Quietly I test these things in the lab that is my mind, with interesting results. Really if I am not saying or thinking something out there, I am probably asleep. Sometimes I wish I could calm the madness going on inside my head. To some extent I like the crazy things I think, it even inspired this. Usually I go in with no real direction, just a sprinkle of an idea. Very often it just becomes odd ramblings, rarely turns into something of value. While that is ok most of the time, I want people who swing by and read to have a good time. X-rays of my brain might one day reveal an enlarged imagination, but we wont get those for a long time. Zoo's are a great place to kill time while you wait for a brain X-ray.

Done!
Cohesive? Probably not but I will say each sentence starts with a different letter from A to Z and in order so as the challenge goes, good job imaginary person who challenged me to do this.

Haha till next time, have fun kids!!!!

Getting Dressed up to do laundry......Oh and E3 Happened.

I've said that to a few people today and I am almost always met with a confused look. Which really when you think about it, my statement make sense. I am putting on nice clothes, since all my regular clothes are being washed in the laundry. What else am I supposed to wear? I think people aren't putting two and two together when I say getting dressed up. But oh well I digress, lets move on to new stuff shall we.

Now that the nonsense of what I just wrote has been read lets talk about something awesome shall we? What's that? You may be asking yourself in your head as this moment. Well my children we are going to talk about video games. Yes the digital escape we all love, more specifically E3 or Electronic Entertainment Expo is you want to break it down. Is a yearly hype causing event that showcases some of the stuff that makes owning a console worth it. Whether it's new announcements or new footage from stuff coming soon, it is always exciting to see what the developers bring to the table to satiate the general populous and make our wallets run away for fear of preorders.

This years E3 was a little less exciting than last years, but I think last years was something that can only happen once in a great while. Sony stepped all over Microsoft and dominated the entire show. This year was a lot closer in terms of who won to me. Which let's be honest there are no technically winners as they are all making games I and others want but others stepped up and brought an assortment to us. I wont go too deep into each conference because if you are like me you have probably already seen way too much coverage of it from places like Gamespot, IGN, and my personal favorite Giant Bomb. So I wont bore you with minute by minute details I will just go over what I liked in each of the conferences.

First Microsoft, I really enjoyed their presentation. They were all about the games which is what we care about not some show that sounds uninteresting (cough Sony cough). They had some big guys come out that had me a little excited. They showed off the unsurprising Master Chief Collection, bringing all four of the Halo games starring the Chief is awesome. Being able to play them all in one place is something I am excited for, I wish it contained ODST and Reach but as it's the Chief collection I can't complain too much. Next brought more footage of Sunset Overdrive, that game look like a ton of wild fun. I really enjoyed the cinematic they showed for it, made everyone think "oh great another marine shooting dudes yay" but when it went into wait for it Overdrive (yeah I went there) it was a whole other animal. I can't wait to dive into that world and see all the zany shenanigans I will get into. Those two games were the big hits for me, they showed a bunch of other stuff that is sure to be good but out of the entire show they had me giddy to play.

Next up was EA. Talk about an unfocused feeling while watching them. There wasn't anything that really got me excited. I kind of sat there while they talked about concepts and ideas but didn't really show anything. I am not sure if the fact that Battlefield: Hard Line was leaked before the conference hurt them or what they had envisioned for their big end. It just felt like there was no direction, here are some sports games, oh look new Sims game blah blah. The only realy interesting part of their conference was how much their new head guy looked like a super villain.

Ubisoft presents, so Ubi has become one of the better publishers as the years have gone by and this looks to be pretty good from the stuff they showed us. Their catalog was filled with some familiar stuff, nothing was unexpected. It was a fun and interesting conference that while not mind blowing did enough to make me happy. I enjoyed seeing Far Cry 4 footage (more on that later), seeing more Assassins Creed is always good the new entry Unity looks pretty fun from what they've shown. We will just have to wait and see how it stacks up and hopefully does what Black Flag did and get me excited about Assassins Creed again. I would say I was excited for the newly announce Rainbow Six game but that looks too good to be true so I will hold off on getting hype for that one.

So So Sony. Not going to lie this is the conference I was most looking forward to, other than the Nintendo digital event that aired the following day. What I got was kind of a let down in the sense it seemed to go on a little too long. While it had some sweet games to announce or show off, it was filled with normal Sony filler that took me out of the joy of all the awesome things I was shown. While I imagine the new series Poewrs will be interesting and I feel bad about dissing the guy who was excited about it. But a segment that should have been about two to five minutes ran on for far too long. Not to say I wasn't excited for what they showed by any means, the middle of their conference just bored me. Now to the exciting parts, the games. There were a few that made me go all edge of my seat. There was Bloodborne a new game by the brilliant minds behind Demon and Dark Souls, can't wait to see more of that in action. Then there was The Order, a game I am still not sure about. The game looks amazing there is no question in that. It's just every time I see it, I wonder how often they take control away from the player. Seamlessly jumping from cut scene to game play is cool and all but I dont want to have to worry about having control taken away so often that it feels like I am not playing just interacting with cut scenes. Next we were offered a glimpse at the game I was most excited for Far Cry 4. I loved the third entry in the series and this one looks to be even better. I can write for days about the cool stuff I saw but I will just say this it looks to be incredibly fun I can not wait. The big end to their conference was unsurprisingly Uncharted 4, I was really hoping to see The Last Guardian given the lead up to E3. Oh well the game "running in engine" looks great from the small teaser they showed. I have faith in naughty Dog that the game will look fantastic when it ships next year. Sony's conference was pretty good but had spots that bored me to death, I enjoyed a lot of what I saw but they need to focus on tightening up next year, as I don't need all the filler.

It's a me Nintendo! So with the first day in the books the underdog in a way was up. They didn't book an auditorium like the others, they released a nice fifty minute or so video that was pretty awesome. I was a little surprised at how excited I was. I laughed at their Robot Chicken inspired opening to their laughing at themselves jokes, it all worked for me. Lets get to the games shall we! I will only write about the few that made me super excited, there was a ton of good stuff shown though, and I feel bad for skipping it but I must because I already said I was. We saw the Mario Maker, a Mario level creator which depending on what they add to it from the games is what will be the driving force for me. They only showed classic Mario and New Super so we will have to wait and see if they add any of the other classics like Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World. We also had Star Fox, they blurred out the screen but anyone whose played it recognized it as Star Fox. didn't see much more of that but I would definitely play another Fox game. You knew it was coming, I knew it was coming, and it finally came. The Legend of Zelda for the WiiU was announced. They didn't show much but what they did show was exciting and they are saying all the right things to make me think it is going to be a Zelda game we really really want. It sounded like they are taking an open world approach to it and might incorporate the go anywhere ability that we saw in the amazing Link Between Worlds for 3DS. I will buy a WiiU for a new Zelda game and they said it was coming next year, I can only hold off my anticipation for that game for so long. Don't be cruel Nintendo!

So that was E3 in a crazy person's nutshell. Nintendo won for me, and EA lost it. It was another great E3 and a ton of games were shown that should keep us gamer folks happy for a while. October is again going to be a crazy month for games and I can't wait.

Words! Look here I have written some words! Put them together and they form these things called ramblings.

So after my last post you can guess I am a little down in the proverbial dumps as it were. I decided to hunt around the internet to find things to cheer me up. I found all the good stuff like funny cat pictures, silly memes, naked ladies, and other silly video game memes (Luigi's death stare I am talking to you). Once I was done with Reddit, I explored the vastness of the internet. I decided to do the age old thing people do at times, I Googled myself. Now I am not the most exciting person on this here planet of ours, but I have left a sort of digital foot or finger print however you would choose to describe it. I saw pictures that I had posted to Facebook, I saw there are a good number of people with the same glorious name as my own. I also came across something I hadn't seen in while, my poetry. See a long time ago when I started writing my super kick ass unfinished cat story "Feline Revolution" I found a website called WritersCafe. It is a free site that lets user post their short stories, poems, writings, and other musings for the world to see and comment on. I joined the site under the pen name J.Daniels looking to get input on my cat story as everyone I showed it to wouldn't give me actual feedback. After my story got over 200 hits I decided to put more stuff on the site to get peoples thoughts. For one reason or another I started putting poetry on the site. I don't know what inspired me to dabble in the poetic arts, but when I posted some things I felt a little bit free in a sense. I wrote some things that had meaning to me and never really shared that kind of thing with people in the past. The few I did post were about dealing with a girl who I liked but was being pushed into the friendzone and it was killing me, another one was about sharing secrets. I felt better when I wrote those things down and shared them with people, not unlike this. Getting feedback and people calling me deep was an interesting feeling. Normally people who know would call me the farthest thing from deep, I am usually loud obnoxious and slightly annoying. Having people who didn't know me say things about my writing was a nice happenstance of sharing things with complete strangers. I have more often than not had a way with words, I am way better on paper then I am in person that's for sure. I have always found myself far more eloquent and well versed when I write than when I decide to open my mouth and talk. That probably comes from the fact that I talk very fast and while I hear the words I say with a certain clarity others can have a hard time understanding me. When I write though the words come out with an ease and comfort. Sure my punctuation can use some work but overall I think the foundation is there. Just have to adjust a little so I don't have running sentences everywhere. I do wish that I could speak in a way that was more pleasing to people and be told to slow down or repeat what I say. It's hard for me when I have so much to say and only so much breath in my chest to get it all out. I know at this point I am rambling and lost my train of thought. Clearly it's time I take a step back before I start talking all crazy. So yeah that's some things rattling around in my head at this moment, hope you enjoyed it.
